1st Match
1st Half
Fry’s kicked off and lost the ball to Fishponds straight away who passed the ball around well to put Fry’s under pressure.
Kyle won the ball in the middle
of the park and put a good pass out to Perry who managed to get a shot at goal,
forcing the Fishponds keeper to make a save.
Fishponds came back at
Fry’s with some good passing and strong running that was dealt with confidently
by Joel Rowbottom in defence.
The visitors kept the ball
in the Fry’s half and continued to put the defence under pressure, this time
dealt with by Jonathan Shorland.
Fry’s replied to this with
a good run on the left wing from Jack Dancey and some
nifty footwork getting the ball forward to striker Kyle Morris whose shot was
saved by the Fishponds keeper.
Excellent
skill by Perry and passing by Jonathan, great shape by Fry’s, good calling from
Joel, great communication from Mickey.
A solid
ball forward by Mickey with a crafty flick by Kyle to deceive the keeper to
make it 1-0.
Fry’s began to apply the
pressure with some excellent football that saw Kyle get his 2nd goal
with a brilliant finish, looking up and taking his time.
Fry’s kept the pressure on
to see out the half with a two-goal lead.
2nd Half
Good start from Fry’s, excellent run
from Jack down the left wing taking on at least three players to drill the ball
home for an excellent solo goal and number 3 for Fry’s.
Fishponds came straight
back at Fry’s with the ball being played into the penalty area only to be
brought down by the arm of Mickey Parsons to give the visitors a penalty. The
Fishponds striker stepped up to take the penalty and his shot was driven in low
and hard only for keeper Aaron Loughlin to get down
to make a brilliant save.
Another good run on the
left from Jack who crossed in for Lee Heath to shoot but he didn’t manage to
trouble the Fishponds keeper.
Fishponds continued to
apply the pressure and their surge forward was halted by a gutsy tackle from
Joel.
A strong
run down the right wing by Perry who was brought down by a tackle from behind
to win a free kick.
The kick was taken by
Jonathan and crossed into the area to go out for a corner.
Fishponds replied and the
moment the ball was at the other end they won a corner that was taken quickly
but defended well and cleared by Kyle.
Excellent football from
Fry’s created a chance for Mickey who just missed.
Good strength by Jack and
calling from Joel. The Dynamics of Perry, Kyle, Mickey and Jack is really coming
together.
Good game with some
unfortunate misses by Fry’s.

2nd Match
1st Half
As the rain
came down Fry’s kicked off into the howling wind. Quickly the visitor’s
pressure forced a corner that was defended by Ben Harper.
Both
sides struggled to get to grips with the conditions, however, Ben Harper
started to impose himself, getting the ball under control and looking to pass
to Ben Clapp.
Fry’s
defence continued to dominate with Ben Watt marshalling the task and Jordan
Finch clearing any danger.
Fishponds
attacked and using the wind, Jake was safe when handling a long shot.
Then
against the run of play Fishponds crossed the ball into the box, which bounced
up, unfortunately off of the knee of a Fishponds player into the net for 0-1
From the
re-start Fishponds began using the wind shooting from long range, which forced
the home keeper Jake Whooley to make some good saves.
Fishponds
continued with a shot that hit the post putting Fry’s under pressure. Fry’s
responded with strong defensive roles from
Ben Watt, Mathew Holloway
and Daniel Kendal.
After a
hard fought first half it finished with Fry’s 1-0 down.
2nd Half
Fry’s
kick off with substitute Nathan Munford taking up a position on the right wing.
An early
chance fell to Mitchell Thornton who hit a strong shot, which cannoned off the
post and was cleared for a Fry’s corner.
Resulting
corner taken by Ben Harper was deflected off a Fishponds player and into the
net for 1- 1
Good play
by Jordan Finch in midfield, passing the ball to Mitchell who knocked a good
ball into the box that was cleared for a corner.
Another
Ben Harper corner into the box with Mathew Holloway hitting a low shot into the
net for 2-1
More
Fry’s pressure resulted in Mitchell hitting the post and Ben Harper forcing a
good save from the Fishponds keeper.
Fishponds
attempted to attack the Fry’s defence only for Ben Watt to steal the ball from
the Fishponds strikers and make an accurate pass to Mitchell. Mitchell nipped
past two Fishponds defenders to coolly finish for 3-1.
The
conditions really played its part in this half with Fry’s camped in the
Fishponds half, with Mitchell, Mathew, and Nathan coming close with long shots.
Definitely
a game of two halves with Fry’s finishing 3-1 winners.
